If you are in the same boat, don’t worry because we have done the hard work and come up with some easy and inexpensive ways to celebrate this Saturday! From last minute costumes to DIY Halloween decorations, you can pull off the perfect evening with just a few hours of preparation.
DIY Halloween Costumes
Whether dressing up just isn’t your style or you were just too busy to think of a costume in advance, you can still look the part simply by digging through your closet or taking a quick trip to the craft store. Here are 3 last minute halloween costumes for adults that will either feel just right or at least spark some creativity:
Tourist
- Hat
- Sunglasses
- Bright colors (layered)
- Camera (to hang around your neck)
- Map
- Fanny pack
If you don’t have these items, somebody you know surely does. The more ridiculous you look, the better this costume will turn out so have fun!
Counting Sheep
- Black shirt
- Black tights or pants
- White dress or long hoodie
- Cotton balls
- Glue
- Felt
This takes a little bit more prep that your DIY vacationer, but all you have to do is glue cotton balls to a white dress/sweatshirt and then make ears from felt and attach them to a headband or hood! This makes a great group costume with multiple numbered sheep and one person wearing pajamas.

- Headband
Who wouldn’t love a 80s throwback. All you need to do chose your favorite care bear, pick that color sweatshirt, and then cut out a large white circle for the tummy and their coordinating symbol using felt. Pair it with black leggings or sweatpants and you are good to go! Great for the whole family or as a solo costume!

Since Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, it is the perfect opportunity for some easy halloween crafts with the kids! Tip: Carving your pumpkin on Halloween doesn’t mean you have to throw it out on November first. Mix a tablespoon of bleach with a quart of water and add that solution to a spray bottle. Spray the inside of your pumpkin and the cut sections to keep it fresh longer so you can keep it on display!
While planning in advance can certainly make for a less chaotic Halloween, there is still a good thrill in pulling it together on the day of!
