September Cravings: Urban Outfitters
Having just submerged myself in worldwide fashion week news for the last few weeks, I had to remind myself I am not ready for Spring/Summer 2014! In fact, fall is just beginning. With September being the start of a new season and my birthday month, I can give some validity to my shopping problem. It’s my birthday, and I can buy if I want to!
A long-time favorite shop of mine is Urban Outfitters, which is currently offering 10% off store-wide! Urban Outfitters offers everything from clothes, shoes, and vintage to quirky home gear (which make perfect gifts); there’s something for everyone. The tough part was keeping my list to a minimum, but here are my favorite finds to update my wardrobe and home:
The asymmetrical hem, the leather trim, the sexy racer back; everything about the Silence + Noise Zuri Cutout Maxi Dress was calling my name. This may even be my birthday dress.
A cropped knit sweater such as the Kimchi Blue Shaker Cropped Sweater in green is perfectly cozy. A great throw-on-and-go piece, I would wear it with slouchy trousers or a high-waisted midi skirt and heels.
Urban Outfitters reworks vintage pieces under the Urban Renewal Label. Specifically, the Urban Renewal Leather-Cuff Military Jacket is made from vintage military coats, features an added touch of leather, an oversized fit and is right on trend for fall.
I have an obsession with velvet, so much so that this is one of the first fabrics I pull once the time is right. This Staring At Stars Crushed Velvet Maxi Skirt in maroon is perfect for dipping temperatures. The slit can be worn on center front, center back or to the side.
The slouchy leather pant is a piece I love and hope to see a lot of in the streets. Sparkle & Fade’s Vegan Leather Pull-on Pant is slightly cropped and relaxed.
The “New Pant” is undeniably the ultra comfortable relaxed pant, resulting in a low level of resistance on my part. Priced at only $29 the Staring At Stars Heroine Harem Pant is an easy addition to any wardrobe. Wear with heels and a tank for a feminine look.
In an attempt to give my beloved heels a break, I am always on the hunt for extra-cool, extraordinary flats. A go-to style for me is the time-less brogue oxford. I found the perfect pair in BDG’s Metallic Christina Wingtip Oxford in blue.
Jeffrey Campbell’s Everly Snake Cutout Ankle Boot grazed my sight and has made its way into my MUST-HAVE list. This white boot is a great alternative to fall’s dark colors featuring scaled leather and silver metal accents.
What is a wardrobe without a great hat? The Palais Floppy Hat is truly the perfect hat and will be of great use on those cold slept-in-late mornings when there just isn’t enough time for hair maintenance. A hat pulls any look together.
Home décor is crucial and can be expensive if you don’t know where to look. This Hexagon Side Table, great for its sculpted metal and glass top is an inexpensive addition to any room in the home.
This Paris Window View Tapestry is a great addition in bedrooms or living rooms. If you can’t go to Paris, bring Paris to you.
Don't forget to use promo code KOOLSKOOL to get a huge discount when you shop next at Urban Outfitters. I hope you like all things featured and make sure to tune in to see more of my monthly cravings!
