It’s the end of winter - finally! For every end there is a new beginning – and for this one it’s spring! If you’re as excited as I am about the weather warming up, you’re also likely as thrilled for the new life and energy the season brings. Choose your color(s)
Before you start shopping, choose your accent color (or colors). I always like to check out the Pantone Fashion Colors for the season and try to stick with one or two colors to integrate into the decor, as not to overwhelm the room. You’ll also want to think about how these bright spring colors can translate to other seasons (especially for the larger, more expensive items).
For this season, I chose the Niagara blue. I not only love blue, but it also compliments my gray walls, white curtains, kitchen and molding, and dark wood flooring and furniture. Thinking to the future – it will also blend well with my other seasonal décor – from orange and tan in the fall to red and green at Christmas.

When I first starting thinking about buying new area rugs for my home, all that came to mind was dollar signs – and that’s often what you’ll find. But, then I searched on Overstock and found the perfect touch for the right price.

A quick update to the lampshades in your living area or bedroom can make a true difference in the feel of the room, bringing it from homey during the winter season to fresh and bright in the spring. I love this floral lampshade for spring that can do just that. If you have two similar lamps, update them both! Even updating old lamps with new, shapely shades in white or cream can make a true difference.
