1. Buy in-season produce
Ever go to the grocery store to find raspberries that are $8 per small container? So have we, and it’s shocking! Check back in a few months and that $8 container will be half the cost because it’s in season. Deal!
2. Exercise in your house/outside
You don’t have to belong to a gym in order to get in shape. In fact, you can do a whole lot of exercises using just your bodyweight or items in your house. Try tricep dips using your dining room chair, do bicep curls using large bottles of water or hold your purse out in front of you while doing squats instead of a medicine ball!
3. Find free workouts on YouTube
One of the biggest complaints we often hear as to why people don’t exercise is that they don’t know what to do. Get moving! Physical activity, whether it’s hiking, running, walking, jumping, is what you need in order to start on your health journey. If you’re looking for full workout regimens, turn to YouTube; you’ll find everything from yoga to HIIT exercises.
4. Download free health apps
There are so many amazing apps you can download on your smart phone or tablet that have tons and tons of helpful information waiting for you to tap into. Everything from Headspace for meditation to Calorie Counter to track your nutrition to Fit30 for workouts is available at no cost.
5. Find recipes online
It may be sad to say, but cookbooks aren’t really vital anymore. There are so many cheap, healthy recipes online that you can get for free. Not only is the access to the recipes free, but you can also find recipes specifically for people on a budget, so you won’t be whipping up a meal that costs you $80.
Make sure you’re eating your greens, getting substantial physical activity, drinking lots of water and getting enough sleep. You never knew how easy it could be to stay healthy on a budget!
